After receiving the grass Gator 8050, the first thing that stands out is that it is 2 1/2 times the mass of my OEM trimmer head. I followed the directions for straight shaft weed trimmers, in which where a lot of assumptions that where not true for my make and model. Short story is that this trimmer head would not securely work with my Cub Cadet model CC4175 Trimmer. The bolt included to attach the head was too long, the head never seated properly, and even with use of the spacer provided would flop about the shaft in a manor that let me know not to attempt operating the trimmer with it attached. his review is in no means a negative reflection of the concept itself, but just a review of the incompatibility of this product with my trimmer despite the fact that it was advertised to fit Cub cadet trimmers. 5 of 7 people found the following review helpful Great idea, but wouldn't work for my trimmer, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Grass Gator 8050 Hurricane Trim & Blow Replacement String Trimmer Head (Lawn & Patio) I purchased this head for my Troy Bilt TB70SS, and it wouldn't work for it. They were very friendly and tried everything they could think of to get this head to work for my trimmer.  handy man glen, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Grass Gator 8050 Hurricane Trim & Blow Replacement String Trimmer Head (Lawn & Patio) This thing is great I seen it a few years ago at the hardware store but they talked me out of getting it.Just poke the string in and its ready to cut then pull the fan blades out and blow off your mess if you grind off to much of the fan blade tips you can push the back of the blades with a stick or something and they pop right out. If Your weed eater has a straight shaft you have to take open the head and swap the blades with the extra ones that come with it. And if you have the string more than a couple inches longer than the fan blades it cuts better but it also cuts down the force of the blowing. With the strings around 6 to 8" you have to use a little pressure to hold the head down BUT IT WILL CLEAR around a 6' circle tilt it around 45 degrees it will clear around 6' about 3-4 feet in font.
